Dave Gilmour.
Most artists who performed at Live8 have seen a huge rise in CD sales since the event, none more so than the reformed Pink Floyd whose best of album, Echoes, saw sales increase of 1,343% on Sunday.
But Dave Gilmour has decided
Though the main objective has been to raise consciousness and put pressure on the G8 leaders, I will not profit from the concert.
If other artists feel like donating their extra royalties to charity, perhaps then the record companies could be persuaded to make a similar gesture and that would be a bonus. Dave Gilmour
We’ll see about the latter, though funny to see Pete Doherty’s shambolic display result in a 35% decrease in Libertines sales.
