Well let’s see how Thomas Tuchel the result of F.A. panic

works out.

Lee Carsley coached and talked himself out of the easiest job interview imaginable, as the Greek result and his comments sent the F.A. into a blind panic that saw them rush in to get Thomas Tuchel in as the new England manager.

After the first half against Ireland the F.A. were patting themselves on the back, yup that whole DNA and pathway thing is working out perfectly. Except it wasn’t really, it was just that the Southgate days were so dull that anything that involved going forward seemed like a huge leap… forward.

The second half against Ireland and the follow up game, showed we were back in Southgate dullville. Then Carsley decided to go rogue against Greece and those six games that he was gonna cruise through, to take the job were no more. One more dull outing and following Carsley’s comments about the job, the F.A. were scrambling.

They were happy to go through the motions, oh yeah we’re doing our due diligence, scouting out prospective candidates for the job, while expecting Carsley to just run through the teams he faced in the second division of the Nations League. Teams that ranked 54th, 58th and 63rd when he took over.

Now after losing so badly to Greece then the less than inspiring follow up against Finland and Carsley didn’t even manage his six game audition. As Thomas Tuchel was quickly interviewed, accepted and installed within two days of that fourth game of Carsley’s interim reign.

Carlsey saying he hoped to go back to the U21s, was part of the rush. Now should he get his wish, as he’s now shown it’s not to be a “pathway”, or should they bin him off completely and try and make it a “pathway”? The problem with F.A. “pathways” is it just gives you F.A. yes men.

Tuchel won’t be an F.A. yes man. He’s someone who seems better suited to the international game. He seems to fall out with many that are around on a day to day basis, players and club officials. Now if he has the minimal contact of an international manager, there might not be the tension.

He’s won where he’s managed, well, the big clubs but those clubs he’s managed have had a history of winning. Though he did manage to see Bayern lose their grip on the German title. But that last season saw him manage Harry Kane. Saw him manage Harry Kane to 44 goals in 45 games in all competitions. Now just think how many goals Kane has managed for England under two managers who didn’t play to his abilities, Hodgson and Southgate. Imagine him with someone who knows how to play him. Kane was one of those on Tuchel’s side when he was losing the players at Bayern.

Well, just have to see, no doubt Tuchel will pick his favourites, he’ll pick players out of position and he’ll pick injured players. Because that’s the true F.A. DNA… doesn’t really matter who comes in or where they come from… with the F.A. repent at leisure… or have they finally got it right… and I mean… who else was there really…
