Surely no one expected a different outcome

HIGHLIGHTS | Tottenham v Brighton | Premier League

than a Spurs’ loss.

Spurs final game of the season, ended how so many had done before, in a record equalling loss, at home to Brighton, in a 4-1 thumping, with all the usual failures.

The biggest failure being the manager who now everyone has reversed ferret and wants to stay.

It’s funny seeing them go on about league loss after league loss and then one win and everything is forgotten. It’s even funnier seeing the ones that wanted Mourinho and Conte sacked because the tactics were too negative and defensive, and yet after one of the most negative and defensive displays the club has ever put out, sees them in raptures – would it have been the same if Jose had been allowed that cup final and won it?

And they act like it’s the greatest night in the club’s history. Comparing Ange to Bill Nich and Keith Burkinshaw, when he’s just seen the record equalling 25 defeat of the season, equal with Peter Shreeves in ’91/’92. No one is wanting a statue of Shreeves, even though he got ’em to 3rd in the league, not 17th.

This team managed to with the Europa League with a manager that can’t coach. Since that open run of 10 games, they have a league loss percentage of 51%. 34 league losses in two seasons. Imagine it with one of those many managers that outcoached Ange throughout the season.

Levy and these people – who wanted Ange gone just a few days before – are gonna Ten Hag the club. They’ll be the same type that’ll cream themselves over the purchase of Tel or Grealish. I did ask before game, who will be the biggest waste of money out of the pair. Again Tel didn’t show anything that would make a sensible club spend big on him. All he has show since being at Spurs is why Munich will be willing to let him go.

Tel started – and showed what a lightweight he is, 1257 minutes in all competitions, 3 (one a pen) goals one assist, he had one great chance, he blew it – in what was a strong lineup, all things considered – the final, the victory, the celebration – which saw only three changes from Wednesday.

It was level but Brighton looked the more likely and had most of the ball in the first opening 17 minutes, before Solanke had his first touch of the ball. That touch was the penalty that opened the scoring. It came from Tel’s only real contribution of the game, being fouled. Needless, I mean it’s Tel, cutting inside and going nowhere. Solanke did one of those stupid run ups and just got it in off the bar. He hardly touched the ball after. And people cheered him like he’s the greatest striker they’ve ever seen.

Not many Spurs’ players did. After that they tried to Europa League it, but Brighton aren’t Man U. The visitors had 70% of the ball and scored the next four goals.

It took into the second half but while that might have been a surprise, Spurs conceding from a corner wasn’t. Fifteen minutes later the same guy from a corner and Brighton have the lead. Two full seasons in and his still hasn’t got a clue on coaching corners.

Took a while for the third, to make sure of that 22nd league defeat, 10th at home, it came from a pen after a foul by Bissouma. The fourth came from about 26 yards out, a screamer into the top corner, Vicario has no chance.

This game was the norm, that Euro final wasn’t, in fact this game was so the norm it could have been the outcome of their first two matches in the Europa League, which would have seen the final an impossibility and would no doubt have seen Ange off before Christmas.

But the Happy Clappies want to see him make excuses for next year’s poor league form, though when they play like this he won’t have a European cup run to blame.
