British CD buyers have the biggest collections
The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) said that in the UK buyers of recorded music bought an average of 3.2 discs per person per year.
Only just over 3 a year, bloody hell must be taking up a few folks quota already bought 9 that I can remember. And one certainly ain’t Amarillo.
Most are old classics (over 30 years old) that I objected to paying full UK new CD price for to update from vinyl/tape but thanks to FOPP they’re now just a fiver (£5).
Only new disc is Queens Of The Stone Age – Lullabies To Paralyze from CD Wow
And your opinion on the new QotSA? I’m getting mixed views on that one with the main consensus being that Josh Homme is all over. what do you reckon?
Due to being away, ordering it late and a delay in it being sent (first delay from CD Wow) I haven’t actually heard it yet 😀
Well, I’ll be waiting for your review then. You must be a big fan of QotSA to order a CD you’ve never heard. They’re playing at Reading this year BTW.
Well I really like “Songs For The Deaf” and “R” so figured it would be worth the gamble, we’ll see.
