not quite there but it was close.
It was a good very much needed 4-0 win against Derby yesterday, though it has to be said Derby were shockingly crap.
And he’s almost there Martin Jol with his team selection, both Huddlestone and Taarabt showed why they should be first choice players and why there’s been so many calls for them to be starting and not wasting away on the bench. Huddlestone is by far the best deliverer of a ball we have the one pass over Keane’s should showed that, with Robbie’s volleying skills I thought he might do better with it. Taarabt can cause defences all kinds of trouble with his dribbling runs, yeah he’s a bit greedy but the best players are.
Now he just has to forget about Jenas, just think how better it could have been with a true quality player in that position. Hudd, Malbranque, Lennon, Zokora, Taarabt, Routlegde and Kevin Prince and hopefully the addition of some left sided cover – a number of players that should be picked ahead of Jenas, I mean even McClown has seen the error of his ways by dropping him from the England squad, probably the reason Jenas upped his game for once.
Go on Martin, bite the bullet tell Levy that you pick the team…
On an unrelated note watching MotD last night, what has Alan Hansen been up to, and cound’t the BBC make up person have done a better concealing job? A fat lip, couple of scar like marks under his eye and that side of his face looked a bit puffy from…like bruising.
