R.I.P. Mike Starr

Alice In Chains - Them Bones - Rain When I Die - Rooster - Down In A Hole

another fallen.

So the original Alice In Chains line up has been halved with the news that bassist Mike Starr has been found dead in Salt Lake City, aged 44.

This of course follows front man Layne Staley’s death in 2002.

Now Alice In Chains were one of the best bands to come out of that Seattle thing at the turn of the 90s and “Dirt“, which both Starr and Staley appeared on, is one if not the best album of that decade. All killer no filler, from the opener “Them Bones” to “Would?” 13 brilliant tracks. A masterpiece that I’ve listened to so much if it wasn’t on CD it would have worn out and been replaced numerous times…

Facelift” and “Sap” are excellent albums as well but nothing matches “Dirt”.
