useless Ange.
Rangers only had one job but they couldn’t hold on to the lead that would have surely seen the back Ange at Spurs, as the so called “Battle of Britain” saw a dire game with very little football breaking out in a one all draw between Spurs and Rangers.
Spurs’ dismal run of dismal performances and dismal results continued in their Europa League jaunt up to Ange’s old haunt of Glasgow, in a gawd awful game that saw the Ange fanbois in the media going gaga over an awful game.
Ange’s level… a dire draw, having to come from behind, against a team third in a one team league. In which his team were for the most part outplayed. It was only the home sides ineptness up front that meant it ended scoreless at the break. A first half in which Forster was again the saviour for Spurs as he had to make three times the number of saves as his counterpart.
People saving Forster is saving Spurs have missed out on the fact that Vicario was doing the same with his shot saving, this season and last. This is nothing new under Ange. Well, he left himself with just players for centre-back, Dragusin and Gray. Of course Ange plays Gray on the right and Dragusin on the left, which means both players are playing out of position. Yeah look mate… it’s Angeball… aren’t you entertained?
Entertained. Well the commentators seemed to be. McCoist and Hoddle seemed permanently in the throws of their vinegar strokes as the drivel unravelled before them. It was rubbish. Both side wide open and yet both sides incapable of finishing. When Rangers Cerney was subbed in the second half both of them said Spurs would be happy about this. Why? Every time he was in a great position in the Spurs’ box he made the wrong decision and butchered a chance.
But nobody was butchering more than Timo Werner. Timo fucking Werner. The German was so bad. Soooo bad. That even Ange saw it and hooked him at the break. Ange went for the German in his post match presser
When you’ve got 18-year-olds [in the squad], it [that performance] is not acceptable to me
I said that to Timo, he’s a German international.Ange
Says the man who repeatedly plays Werner ahead of those 18 year olds, who repeatedly plays Werner. Who said yes to Werner’s loan deal and then said yes to extending it to this season, when the German did nothing but stank the place out last season. The man who has played Werner 19 times this season, starting him in 8 games. No doubt he’ll say yes when Levy makes Werner’s loan deal a permanent move because they’ll get him cheaper than he would have been last season.
Well, Ange’s half-time team talk and hooking Werner worked a treat, as yet again Spurs came out after the break even worse than when they went in. It was a couple of minutes in, when a looping cross was finished off brilliantly and Rangers were one up.
Finally were Spurs gonna get a break and see the back of Ange? He surely couldn’t survive defeat here? Rangers had their chances, they could have finished this off, if they weren’t so inept. This was lower league stuff from both teams. Then Spurs got a bit of luck, bad luck you may say – every silver lining has a cloud.
Hoddle said it was a great bit of football by Spurs. It was the only bit of football by Spurs. But it still required Solanke bottling taking a shot, playing a pass that didn’t find its intended target and a nice finish from Kulusevski.
Rangers still had plenty of chances in the final 15 minutes after that equaliser. But Spurs got… lucky… unlucky… and still sit one place outside the automatic qualification places, in 9th. Hell they’re even behind Man U now.
Last 10 games in all competitions they’re beaten City twice, scored four goals twice and won only three games.
But McCoist and Hoddle were entertain, so apparently were Peter Crouch and Alan Hutton. When back in the real world it was god awful stuff. Another clueless display by Ange as he showed he can’t coach a side to beat a fourth division team – three whole shots on target all night. But then even when he was the big fish in that small pond he struggled at Ibrox.
Does Ange believe this is one of those trophies he can win in his second season…
