they can’t even learn a lesson from Villa.
Ange saw his trophy boast take another hit with another meek capitulation as they went down to a flatter 2-1 scoreline away at Aston Villa, a team they’d put four past in the last two meetings.
We had the usual Aussie caterwauling after the game from the Greasy Fat Fraud. It’s funny how the Angesexuals had the vapours when the Leyton Orient manager said he won’t make excuses like Ange, then they sit there and listen to his excuses and parrot them.
Teams have injuries, Villa had one fit centre back, he left the pitch after less than half an hour. Bournemouth have injuries, plenty of them, they’re not losing week in week out. Spurs had fit player when they were the first team to lose to Palace and Ipswich. Fit, full squads when they were losing for most of 2024.
And then Ange listed his missing players and included… Werner.
Oh mate, taking the piss there. Maybe you and the club would be in a better position if you’d rotated some kids in instead of playing Werner in 17 games this season. Maybe you wouldn’t have those injuries if you didn’t run the players into the ground.
Ange then pointedly asked what Liverpool did. Knowing they’d lost in the Cup, after fielding an almost completely different team that humiliated Ange’s on Thursday. Well, yes Ange, they had a blip. A blip in a season in which they’ve played midweek every week, while being at the top of the table and getting to a cup final. And having a number of injuries. They were completely off it against an up for it Plymouth side. Yet they still look more coached than Aange’s sides.
Ange’s sides where the players he’s left with are getting worse the more they are the first XI choices. Like every player at the club – well perhaps bar Werner – they’s got worse the more they’ve been around Ange’s “coaching”.
The fitting thing is this embarrassment comes at the hand of a club that went the Levy path. Villa hired a coach from the Scottish top flight. Like Ange, that manager had won north of the border. Like Spurs, that manager was found to be out of his depth, he lasted about a year before the club realised the mistake they’d made. They replaced him and the club haven’t looked back. From a point off relegation they ended up 7th in the league. Followed up by a fourth spot and Champions League, while also competing in Europe and reaching a semi-final. They currently sit 8th in the league, while qualifying for the next stage of the CL.
Ange sits 14th while clinging onto the hope of doing something in the Europa League.
A bit back I posted about Ten Hag’s numbers that saw him sacked at United. How Ange’s win and loss percentages were worse than the Dutchman. Well, that was a few weeks back and there hasn’t been many wins for thick Dundee since then.
Ten Hag: Win 54.6%; Loss 31.8%.
Ange: Win 48.75%; Loss 36.25%.
Yet, he still has his job because he might win a cup. Remember when the Angesexuals were talking about winning all three cups? You don’t? Well it was only a few days ago.
Well, I haven’t said much about this game because there wasn’t much to say. A poor mistake from Kinsky for the opener but then he made so many saves after that, he kept them in the game and stopped it being a real thrashing. He was criticised for causing problems when playing out from the back but that’s Ange’s fault, not the player. In the end he probably was Spurs best player on the night for those saves.
Spurs could have equalised shortly after going behind but Son isn’t the player he was. Two years under Ange has buggered him probably beyond repair. The middle of the park was nonexistent for Spurs, much like the Liverpool game that area was just ran through with ease all night. They couldn’t hold the ball, or pass the ball. Do anything with the ball.
It shouldn’t have been nervy for the home team but finally Kulusevski did something apart from pirouette, play the ball behind someone, get it trapped under his feet. Putting in a cross for Tel to score an excellent first for the club. The youngster put in a shift but must be wondering why he made this choice. I can’t see Ange’s other prediction that Tel will be still at the club after his loan spell, if the fraud is still in the dugout.
But there he stays… while those that shout – rightly – for Levy’s departure say the man Levy hired because he was cheap has to stay…
