They are corny as hell, some of them are dead ropy, some exceptionally bad – so bad that there not even bad enough to be good – but the Carry On films are so quintessentially British and there are some crackers in bunch of 31, which started in 1958.
One man was responsible for the series, producer Peter Rogers, who has died at the age of 95.
