ends scoreless again.
Four games into the season and another clean sheet for Spurs opponents in their second nil nil draw in a row, this time at home to Everton.
And it’s not like they really looked like they could break that duck but De Zerbi is chuffed with them.
I mean for once they actually started out on the front foot, actually looked like they were up for the game but when it came to finishing things off, they were taking that extra 8th touch in the box or passing it sideways or backwards, instead of shooting.
And amazingly some people just found out having the big dumb dolt, Solanke, up front doesn’t make any difference.
Much like Spurs attacks, their front foot play soon petered out into the meandering nothingness we’ve seen so much of this season.
Again the starting line up saw another change of personnel. One start each and Porro and Udogie are missing with injuries – isn’t it good they sold off that back up that can play either side – back to the midfield trio that started against Newcastle and didn’t work there. Tel finally dropped, Marmoush better not off up front but then that leaves just Solanke there and as said that does not improve matters.
Desperate times called for desperate measures. Here comes Tel and Kudus and guess what, it made no difference. Tel even being so useless that De Zerbie ripped into him. Which upset the wets. And there’s still people acting like this isn’t what we saw from Kudus when he was fit. There’s no difference. He runs round in circles, runs into defenders, kills momentum and destroys moves. It’s not because he’s finding his feet, it’s because that’s what he does.
It’s all too clueless to get much better any time soon. The manager doesn’t seem to know what to do, the players aren’t there to do it if he did – almost as if chasing after winger after winger and not going all out for the thing that’s been missing since Kane’s departure hasn’t worked.
With Solanke and nothing else how can it get better?
