there wasn’t much else.
Spurs one all draw against Man United, another basket case club, was following a familiar pattern, when another golden oldie popped up, the red card, which saw something new.
Everyone could see it coming, Spurs were all over United, shots were coming, shots were being missed, it had all the hallmarks we’ve seen so far under De Zerbi, Spurs would fizzle, United would score and more than likely go on to win.
The only surprise was it took United so long to open the scoring, 73 minutes. By then Spurs had racked up twice as many shots as the home side, while having also double the amount on target. The only problem being, they’d only managed 2 on target.
Chances were falling to Solanke, who was for some unknown reason made captain for this game and he led from behind. His hiding behind defenders – so frequently pointed out on here – was so obvious even Alan Shearer could see it. When he wasn’t hiding he was taking so many touches it was easy to shut him down – see his first chance in the opening minutes.
He’s a bum. He’s always been a bum. He’ll always be a bum. That Spurs come into this season, after a summer of huge spending, with only him as an out and out striker, is criminal – Marmoush ain’t that guy.
The wingers were pressing and attacking but with Solanke’s hiding and general inability to read where to make a run, meant there was no end product. Saying that even with a striker I doubt Kudus and Savio would have made that many chances. A lot of fannying about, showboating.

And when it wasn’t going to Solanke it was heading in Gallagher’s way. What is the point of Gallagher? Headless running about.
The opener was again far too easy. So much space for Cunha to play the ball to Mbuemo who turned van Hecke so easily to get space to get his shot off.
Then it all kicked off. Bentancur went in wild on Shaw, didn’t touch him, as he was clearing the ball, Shaw charged from yards to push him over, standing up Shaw put his head down to make sure there was contact, bentancur obliged and Shaw went down like he’d taken a swipe from Mike Tyson on his prime.
Funny how a charging two hand push isn’t a red any more… but then it’s only a red for a push when a Spurs player does it. A Spurs player that was then pushed by someone who wasn’t sent off…

But then there’s always one rule for Spurs… and another for those that foul Spurs…

No they weren’t down to 10, they’d been playing with 10 since the start, it was down to nine, would Spurs cave?
A minute into the eight of Fergie Time, and Tonali put a cross in from the left. Solanke was fighting to hide behind the Utd defender, he was winning that fight as he fell down and the ball hit him and went in.
People talking this bum up.
Yes there was fight, yes De Zerbi liked that but there was also what went before, a similar pattern we’ve seen so often, that doesn’t seem to be changing. Oh yes the best performance but that is the lowest of low bars and as said Utd are a basket case club, they’re only 3 points ahead of Spurs, having their worst start to a season in decades.
As Spurs sit with 3 pints, from three draws and have generally just played basket case clubs so far in the league.
