Today – February 26th, 2009 – is the 15th anniversary of the death from pancreatic cancer of one of the great comedians Bill Hicks.
Heard a lot of crap lately about comedians being on the cutting edge, most of it spouted in support of Brand and Ross. Yes in 2008/9 people think a middle aged man egging on a well scripted tramp to leave abusive messages on an old blokes answer machine is cutting edge comic material.
No, in 2009 what Bill Hicks said over 15 years previously is cutting edge…
