was the usual mixture of Spaghetti Western, Poliziottesco and Giallo horror.
It commenced with Anthony Steffen playing Sabata in the Spaghetti Western “Dollars to Die For” aka “Sabata the Killer”. It was not as bad as some reviewers would have it, shifted from comedy to nasty near the end, though as one pointed out, I’m not too sure if you could outrun a posse on horseback in a Ford jalopy.
It continued with the poliziottesco, “Young, Violent, Dangerous”. Three young hoods on the run, chased by Tomas Milian, who went with the flat hair for this more subdued role and performance. Though the tics and twitches were still there. It’s the method you know. It was rather enjoyable when one of the yoots, the really annoying one that cackled like a hyena throughout, had his throat ripped out by a police dog, just a shame it took so long into the film.
It concluded with the low countries vampire horror giallo “Daughters of Darkness”. I tell you what, Harvey didn’t get up to those kind of antics when he was married to Mary Beth.
