How bad is Tuchel’s squad when people are screaming Southgate’s

return.

Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the World Cup is full of the usual suspects, sicknotes, the greedy, no creativity, just like past squads that’ll fail as soon as they meet any quality.

Jordan Henderson. There’s the two words that sums up Tuchel’s squad. In there because he’s a good lad to have around. Doesn’t do anything on the pitch but can give ’em a raa-raa-raa cheer.

Sicknotes, well we’ve got Stones, 4 league starts and a whole 359 minutes played, 8 in the last 23 games. James has played a bit more but is an injury waiting to happen.

Spence has made it but I don’t know how, ahead of certain others. Meanwhile there’s a real lack of creativity in the midfield, with only Villa’s Rogers included. Palmer hasn’t had a great season but you know he can create, while Gibbs-White has had an excellent season in a struggling team.

Add to that Garner at Everton tops the league stats, or is at least in the top three, for the types of things you want from a midfielder.

Doubt he registered a thought from Tuchel.

But while England haven’t got any selfless midfield creativity, they have plenty of wide greed. Saka, Eze, Gordon, Rashford, all more interested in personal glory and going for a shot than playing for the team and playing someone else in.

Add in Madueke another greedy one but with a whole three goal contributions in the league. Meanwhile Bowen, 8 goals 12 assists in another struggling team, not included. Palmer has more goal involvements with 11, as does Gibbs-White 18. Hell even Foden has turned up more than Madueke.

So Harry will be dropping deep and wide because the rest, including Bellingham, will be going for their own glory as England go through their usual struggles to get through the weak group and a poor first knockout opponent, and then crumble when they meet the first team of any quality.

So in the end it’ll be just like having Southgate in charge, I mean it’s not like he filled his midfield with creativity while loving a greedy winger.
